President's Message

Dear SCCHA Members,

It’s hard to believe we’re already heading into September! Summer flew by in a blur of parades, play days, and community events. With cooler weather on the horizon, this is a great time to reflect on how far we’ve come this year and to gear up for a strong finish. We’ve got some exciting things planned this month, and I hope to see many of you out and about, enjoying everything SCCHA has to offer.

5D Buckle Play Day – Saturday, September 20

Let’s hear it for the riders, the horses, the volunteers, and everyone who helped make this year’s 5D Play Day Series such a huge success! We will wrap up the season with a bang at our Buckle Play Day on September 20, which is the culminating event of the series and the moment many have been working toward all summer.

If you’ve participated in at least two of the four Play Days, you’re eligible to win a coveted SCCHA buckle, and let me tell you, the competition is friendly, fierce, and full of fun. Whether you're in the saddle or in the stands, come out and help us celebrate the spirit of this series and the riders who make it shine. This is always a high-energy day packed with fast runs, big smiles, and lots of cheering. Don’t miss it!

Ride with Us in the New Almaden Days Jump-In Parade!

We’re also excited to take part once again in the New Almaden Days Jump-In Parade, which is a small-town tradition with big heart, happening Saturday, September 13. This informal, welcoming parade is a great chance to introduce your horse to a fun community event or simply enjoy the ride with fellow members. It’s a joyful day with BBQ food, live music, games, and a whole lot of history.

Want to participate? Please RSVP by contacting, Yvonne Lee, at 408-203-1795 or yvonneleecdf@gmail.comPlease let her know you’re coming so we can make sure we have enough tack for everyone who wants to ride. You are also welcome to come walk the route and show your club spirit!

What’s Around the Corner?

Even as our Play Day season winds down, the energy at SCCHA doesn’t slow. Our Gaited Horse Show is already open for registration, and be on the lookout for details about the Open House in October, a celebration of horses, horsemanship, and the amazing community we’ve built together.

Thank you for making SCCHA a place where tradition, sport, and friendship ride side by side.

Happy trails,

Tami Moore, President

DANCE PARTY:  Sydney Vandenbrand is volunteering again.  Leading a fun-filled dance party October 18.   We'll have a potluck in the clubhouse, then start dancing.  Sydney will be the DJ.   The themed attire is your 'groovy baby' 60/70's clothes.  So bring them out to play.  You can, of course, come as you are too.......
