VALUED PARTNERSHIPS:
Santa Clara County Parks SCCP is a key partner in bringing shared-use trail safety to the forefront of park usage. During the pandemic, the number of park visitors almost tripled, and the need to educate trail users on how to safely pass others became clear. Together, we host quarterly information table events where county park rangers answer questions, equestrians + horses meet and greet visitors and our hikers and cyclists chat about trail conditions. A big thank you to Kristy Barton, Park Ranger for Calero and Quick Silver, for making this public education effort possible. Santa Clara County Large Animal Evacuation Program SCCLAEP is a key partner in educating stable owners and equestrians on large animal evacuation procedures and in providing an emergency evacuation site. A big thank you to Jayne Perryman, Assistant Program Manager, for presenting during our recent Education Speaker Night on January 26th, 2023. Santa Clara County Preservation Alliance SCCPA is a key partner in recognizing organizations who have made significant historical and cultural preservation contributions throughout Santa Clara County. Since we were founded in 1939, we were honored to be a participant in their first Preservation Awards Night on May 19th, 2022. It was an exceptional event that brought together preservation groups, historical societies, and museums. A big thank you to Tere Johnson, Historical Heritage Commission Vice Chairperson and SCCPA Coordinator, for facilitating our involvement. Almaden Valley Community Association
AVCA is a community partner that facilitates civic engagement for the residents of Almaden Valley. We share the same values and interests of Almaden history, parks and trails and welcoming all residents to our neighborhoods. Midpeninsula Regional Open Space MidPen is a key partner in bringing shared-use trail safety to the forefront of park usage. Together, we plan to host quarterly information table events where park rangers answer questions, equestrians + horses meet and greet visitors and our hikers and cyclists chat about trail conditions. A big thank you to Michael Barnes, Park Ranger for El Corte de Madera, Brian Malone, Assistant General Manager and Chris Barresi, Area Superintendent for making this public education effort possible. Silicon Valley Mountain Bikers We love teaming with Silicon Valley Mountain Bikers. They, too, are a key partner in bringing shared-use trail safety to the forefront of park usage. They are committed to teaching and encouraging safe trail etiquette to all their members. They embrace partnerships with the entire community and even host work days to keep trails in top condition. A big thank you to, Jessica Tseng, for her expert knowledge of the greater Bay Area and her willingness to travel to various sites to meet & greet the public. |
