President's Message

Dear SCCHA Members,

Although we won’t be gathering for a general meeting this month, July is shaping up to be one of the busiest and most exciting months of the year for our association, and I couldn’t be more proud of all the ways we continue to show up and represent the SCCHA in our community.

We kicked things off with a true hometown tradition at the 149th Annual 4th of July Parade in Morgan Hill. This historic event draws thousands, and it’s always an honor to ride in it together, proudly representing the horse community. Whether you're riding, walking, or cheering from the sidelines, thank you for helping keep this tradition alive!

Next, we’ll saddle up for the Mountain Heritage Faire on July 13th, a beautiful event that celebrates the natural and cultural legacy of our mountain communities. It's a chance to reflect on the traditions that shaped our region and to share the importance of preserving that heritage with future generations. Come enjoy the music, food, crafts, and of course, horses!

Then on July 20th, we host the third of our four 5D Play Days, a highlight for riders of all levels and a great opportunity to welcome new faces to the arena. If you haven’t joined us yet for one of these fast-paced and fun days, mark your calendar. Don’t forget that you must participate in at least two of the four Play Days in order to qualify for a buckle at our Buckle Show in September. So, if you haven’t joined us yet, this is the perfect time to come out, compete, and connect!

Finally, we're proud to take part in the 81st Annual Santa Clara County Fair at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds. Our Horse Exhibit will showcase not only our association’s deep roots in this valley but also the vibrant community we continue to build today. We'll be on hand to answer questions, share stories, and offer visitors a chance to connect with horses in a friendly, educational setting.

From parades to play days to public outreach, July is all about visibility, community, and carrying our mission forward. Thank you for your time, your energy, and your passion. Everything you do helps make the Santa Clara County Horsemen’s Association a force for good in our region.

Stay cool, ride safe, and I’ll see you out there!

Happy trails,

Tami Moore, President
